Bio

Gcina is the founding Chief Executive and shareholder of Imbewu. He has the overall responsibility for the operational, strategic and investment activities of the company.

He has more than nineteen years' experience in the private equity industry, of which six years were spent with Nedbank Capital Private Equity, previously known as BoE Corporate Investment Partners, as a Private Equity Specialist.

His responsibilities involved sourcing, evaluating, structuring, investing, monitoring and exiting private equity and investment banking transactions, mainly in the Black Economic Empowerment arena. Prior to joining Nedbank, Gcina completed his articles of clerkship at KPMG where he was involved in normal and specialised audit assignments for various businesses ranging from manufacturing to financial institutions for five years.
