Early Life and Education

Born on April 23, 1812, in Sisteron, France, Louis Antoine Jullien inherited his passion for music from his father, a conductor.

With an extraordinary baptism, he received thirty-six names as a nod to his godfathers, who were musicians from Sisteron's orchestra.

Despite his musical upbringing, Jullien's studies at the Paris Conservatory were cut short due to his preference for popular musical genres.

Conducting and Opera Debut

From 1835 to 1838, Jullien led the orchestra at the popular Parisian café "Jardin Turc," where he delighted audiences with waltzes, quadrilles, and other light-hearted pieces.

In 1852, he made hi
